Genesis: In the beginning

Genesis 1-3
In this section you have: "Six Days of Creation and the Sabbath", "Another account of Creation", and "The First Sin and its Punishment".
I know everyone has read/ heard the creation stories, and about the forbidden fruit, but I think that some people have a gross misunderstanding of what happened there. More specifically what happened in the garden of Eden with the forbidden fruit- the stories of creation are just stories of exactly that: creation, so there isn't much to dispute since you can't prove it either way; but I really get upset when people will express that they think humans would be immortal if Eve hadn't ate of the forbidden tree.
First of all: HELLO!! Adam ate it too.
Second: Here this everybody: They weren't immortal to start with.
At the very end of chapter 3 in verses 22-24 it says: Then the Lord God said, "See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and ake also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever" -- therefore the Lord od sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. He drove out the man; and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim, and a sword flaming and turning to guard the way to the tree of life."
Personally, it sounds like for a minute God was scared, but I know that God was not scared in the sense that he was coveting being immortal; but instead he was scared in the sense that he knew (being our creator and all) that we would physically not be able to handle living forever. He was saving us from ourselves. So yes, Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but so did Adam, neither died before their time but they took their punishment to the grave- a grave that would have come whether they were in the garden or not because they were NOT, I repeat NOT immortal.

May I introduce myself

Hi...
my previous attempts at blogging didn't exactly turn out great but this is a fresh start.
My name is Brittany Cartwright (you can call me Charlie if you want though), I am a second year student at Fleming College, and I am part of the college and career group at Fairview Baptist Church in Lindsay,Ontario.
Now that I've told you a little about myself I will tell you what I'm going to be writing about: the bible, its passages and what it says to me. I'm not one of those cookie cutter christians that have to fit the mold, I know that everyone is different, I just hope that maybe my words bring hope to somebody out there who might be lost, they might be searching for something but they don't know what it is, and another thing, I'm not here to force my beliefs on anyone. Believe what you heart tells you to believe, and I believe that things will just fall into place after that.
